A versatile American screen actor and voice artist, Derek brings professionalism and positive energy to each project. After debuting as a co-star on Showtime's Homeland series, he was privately coached by a 37-year industry professional and wasted little time booking a lead role in his very next appearance in a short film for 20th Digital by Sundance and César award-winning writer/director Sofia Alaoui. He recently wrapped a recurring role in an upcoming Netflix series and another co-star role in Showtime's Ghosts of Beirut while currently being featured in a global advertisement for the new Land Rover Defender 130.

A native English speaker, he also speaks advanced French, Spanish, and Moroccan Arabic in addition to being a high level, multi-sport athlete. Having played basketball professionally and taken up rock climbing, he understands and possesses the discipline and determination necessary to challenge the boundaries of what is believed possible in his pursuit of excellence. This commitment, coupled with his desire to serve others, has led him around the globe and ultimately to Casablanca, Morocco. Now splitting time between the United States and Morocco, he continues acquire new skills and develop his craft while seeking avenues to use his talents and skills and to have a positive impact on his community.
